I am Mallory Deckard, the owner and founding attorney of Deckard Law. After several years of practicing law in both large and small law firms, I realized I wanted to do things differently. I launched Deckard Law so I could practice law my way. Compassion, transparency, and effective advocacy are the core values by which I run my firm.
Although I’ve practiced in many different areas of the law, I decided to focus solely on family law and immigration. In my opinion, the best part of the practice is the human element. I enjoy getting to know my clients and learning their “why”. By working in family law and immigration, I’m able to work with people to improve their lives and protect their rights.
I currently live in Newburgh, Indiana with my husband, Clay and my cat, Madison. In my free time I enjoy taking care of my ever-growing collection of plants, biking, reading psychological thrillers, and international travel. Giving back to the community has always been a significant part of my life, so I also spend a lot of my time working with nonprofits.
Emma Ault is a Legal Assistant at Deckard Law. In her role, she provides personal care and attention to our clients, manages our caseload and prepares matters for filing and trials. Emma is usually the first person you'll talk to when contacting our firm, a responsibility she approaches with the utmost respect. Emma may not possess a knack for nurturing greenery like Mallory, so don't be surprised to find her desk adorned with lifelike artificial plants! We assure you that despite their beauty, they are 100% not real.
Emma grew up in Princeton, Indiana, a place she still calls home today. Following a transformative semester abroad in Europe, Emma graduated cum laude from the University of Evansville with a degree in Communication, complemented by a minor in Legal Studies. She joined Deckard Law after searching for a place where her skills in writing, communication, and leadership would positively affect the lives of others. She hopes to one day attend law school and carry on the legacy of advocacy and compassion Deckard Law strives to achieve.
In Emma's free time, she enjoys going to the movies, immersing herself in a good book while relaxing on her front porch, and sharing lively evenings of karaoke and trivia with her family and friends. Her multifaceted persona enriches both our team and the clients we serve, making her an indispensable asset at Deckard Law.
Just three and a half months after Mallory launched Deckard Law, Kalah joined the firm as a Legal Assistant. Kalah played an integral role in not only helping shape the firm, but also by providing empathetic service to our clients. She has been an invaluable asset to our team. Having recently earned her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling, she has left to pursue her career as a clinical mental health counselor. Her departure marks the beginning of a new chapter in her career journey, and we wish her the very best!
